When it's time to upgrade your old desktop computer you may decide to buy a new one, or build your own with a barebones kit.
First think about what you are going to do with the old Computer. Then decide what parts (if any) that you want keep from your off the old
PC.
If you sell or give the old pc away, then you would need a kit that has all components installed. Just add the operating system and software.
If you are going to dispose of the Computer, you may want to save the drives and cards that are still in good working order. Parts that are
good to save are the CD and DVD Drives and floppy drives these parts are not used as much as the Hard drives and CPU. Depending on how old

technically inclined.

What to look for in a barebones kit.
First decide on how much money you want to spend on all of your pc components. Then look for systems in your price range at a number of web
sites. Check for user reviews on systems that are in your price range. Make notes as you see the systems that you like.
